Book a stay in a holiday cottage at land's End in Cornwall for a romantic break.
Land's End is perfect for a romantic break, it's remote with numerous paths and trails where few people go. Narrow country lanes are lined with flower-filled hedgerows, wild roses and sweet honeysuckle.
The coastal path is busier but so nice to stand and stare at the views and spectacular cliffs as seagulls soar overhead. This is a location that would be imprinted on a couple's memory for ever.
Climb down to secluded hidden coves where you can often have the beach to yourselves. Paddle, sunbathe and explore the rock pools. Nanjizal cove lies about a mile east of Land's End along the coastal path. There is no direct access to this secluded beach, climb down to enjoy the sheltered golden sand. Dogs are also allowed on this beach. Just over a mile away from Land's End to the north is Whitesand Bay - a lovely pale golden sandy beach, perfect for watersports and surfing. There are plenty of opportunities in Cornwall to try your hand at surfing and to hire the surf boards and wet suits.
Stop and picnic among the wild flowers, go walking across country to explore old tin mine workings and gain a sense of history and lives lived and change that prompted the tin workers to abandon earlier dreams and set off across the oceans for new beginnings.
Take in a performance at the outdoor Minack Theatre which is an unforgettable experience. Visit the glorious surrounding gardens. This would be the most perfect spot to watch a sunset or propose.
Eat out at quaint pubs in small fishing villages. Seafood is always on the menu. The local ciders come from the pump and are very good. Try pear cider, compare the cloudy and clear ciders.
A Cornish cream tea is a special treat although quite a lot of clotted cream fudge is also sold.
Go in late spring or summer for the best of the weather, and if you try to avoid school holidays, the beaches will be quiet and roads less congested.
